A New Year with New Beginnings
The 2008 year has come to a close and we now stand at the threshold of a new beginning. 2009 holds hopes of long awaited goals, aspirations and hopes for a brighter future. We want what is best for our family, friends, ourselves, the society and the world at large!
Many make New Year's resolutions, while others simply contemplate how they can keep a bad situation from becoming worse or a good situation to be much better! Now, just as we have individual goals, we must know that the people we encounter everyday are also making the resolutions. Students are no exception.
How do your students view your role in their lives?
Are you important or unimportant?
Are you loved or hated?
Are you respected or disrespected?
Are you adored or despised?
In 2009, let us consider how powerful our impact can be on the lives of the students who walk the corridors of our schools, sit at the desks in our classrooms and look to us as role models of professionalism and expertise.
These young people, as unpredictable as they can be, still depend on us to render the tools necessary to achieve the goals they promised themselves in their own New Year's resolutions. Your daily encounters with your students can build the foundation to empower students to reach for greater heights and believe in the insurmountable possibilities for their lives.
This is a New Year with New Beginnings!
Let each encounter with your students reflect one of encouragement, support, praise and trust believing firmly in the hope of children who will ultimately become the leaders of our future!
