"V" is for Vacation
One of the joys of entering kindergarten is the realization by each bright and enthusiastic 5 year old that he/she can recite their ABC's! The most popular kid's television programs use music, puppets, and even celebrities to teach the alphabet to its eager viewers.
As we get older, however, we spend more time working...and working...and working some more. In these tough economic times, it takes every waking hour available to work on a job, work on our families, work on chores and work on religious or community responsibilities. Huff-Huff!
I don't always realized how exhausted I am until I finally slow down! How about you? Does this sound like you too?
Well, this past week, I have put "V" back into my alphabet! That's right, I took seven days of vacation time and it feels wonderful!
Truthfully, no job revolves around me! As valuable as I think I am to a District, I must also make sure to get some rest, put my feet up, relax and say "how sweet it is".
I'm going to give you some FREE advice:
Take the time to sleep in late, read a book, finish that project around the house, hang out with your significant other, listen to your children when you are not tired (smile) and watch a movie without doing 3 other things at the same time!
Guess what? Your job will most likely be there when you return from your vacation and you will feel so much better!
I promise! It can make all the difference!
Put "V" back in your life's alphabet. You'll be glad you did!
