In Case of Emergency
One fine day, I was sitting in my living room just relaxing and watching television.
All of a sudden, there was a loud explosion outside and everything went black-all of the electricity went to out.
I went outside and all of the neighbors were inquiring with one another what had just occurred. Before we could each exchange our versions of this unexpected event, the police cars, fire trucks and parking enforcement vehicles pulled up to the transformer that had blown up. The police secured the area with yellow tape and parked their cars to block moving traffic. The smoke was still bellowing out from the transformer.
Shortly after all of the commotion, Southern California Edison showed up on the scene and immediately began to work to resolve the problem. It was not resolved until the next day!
Now, I asked myself for the hundredth time...."why aren't you prepared for an emergency?"
I have no flashlights, supplies, generator, first aide kit..nothing!
There's a possibility that there may be an emergency that takes place on your school campus. It could be a natural disaster like and earthquake, hurricane or tornado or it could also be a lock down because a criminal is running loose in the neighborhood!
I highly recommend that you make sure your school has food, water and medical supplies ....you may even want to have items in your own classroom...
