Captain of the Ship
The Costa Concordia Cruise Liner ran aground on a sand bar off the coast of Italy and then sank on Friday January 13, 2011. There were 3200 passengers and 1000 crew aboard. 16 people have been confirmed dead, and many are still unaccounted for.
It is reported that the captain abandoned ship and left the devastated ship toppled on its side with passengers not completely aware of the seriousness of the accident. In fact, there were many passengers found dead still wearing their life jackets.
I strongly encourage anyone who works with people...of any age...but especially those who depend on us for their safety, welfare, or education, to stay with the situation.
Do not put "life jackets" on those who need us most and abandon ship. Instead, you are the captain of the school, the classroom, the caseload, the situation...stay the course...we can be the difference between life and death; health and illness; problem and solution...
Go forth...Lead well...take charge...make a difference!!!!!!
