It's That Time of Year
No one can truly understand how hard it is to be an excellent teacher unless you have walked in those shoes.
It is a challenge to phantom in your mind how you can be doing your very best in the classroom and still receive a certified letter or visit to the principal's office to be told that the enrollment is down and you have to be moved to another school or sit at home until the District figures out where you will be eventually placed.
This creates a very difficult time on school sites because teachers are forced to separate from their colleagues and students and there is just an overall sense of loss.
Many of the teachers who must leave are committed, energetic, effective and conscientious educators. There are others, who do not invest their best into educating children, but they keep their positions due to seniority.
Something has got to change!
Please know that your efforts are not in vain. I salute every dedicated teacher across this country!
You make a difference in the lives of children...everyday!!!!!!
