I Captured Your Beauty!
I have missed writing my blog each week. Please forgive me...all of those who follow my weekly thoughts
and pearls of wisdom! :)
I've undertaken the difficult, yet rewarding task of writing my dissertation to attain a doctorate...well..I'm
almost done and I graduate next month. Hip Hip Hooray!!!!!!!
I went to a photography studio this past weekend to take pictures for the program booklet for graduation. The
photographer took many pictures from different angles with his digital camera, then pulled them up on his computer to show them all to me. I was elated because the pictures looked great. His response was, " I captured your beauty".
Well, I thought of that as an educator. It became another "teachable moment" for me. We must take multiple shots of our students, give them multiple ways to access knowledge, offer them multiple ways to demonstrate their understanding of a skill or concept...in so doing...we are able to "capture the beauty" of student's talents, assets, intellect, and abilities.
I encourage every administrator, educator, counselor, social worker, parent and more...to seek the BEST in every child..they deserve to have a "village" who wants to "capture their beauty"!!!!!!!!
