Lives That Intersect
I always consider the people I encounter briefly...
...in the grocery store
...at the post office
...in the library
...at the park
...in the line at the movies
It is amazing to me that there are so many kind, thoughtful and considerate people in the world. The news may make us think differently, but life's routines allow me to encounter many great people.
I was recently on a trip back to Los Angeles from Washington DC. The young couple in their 30's shared the row with me on the flight. The husband sat at the window, the wife in the (dreaded) middle seat and I was in the aisle seat.
When the movie began during the 5-hour flight, the husband busied himself with something else, but the wife and I watched the interesting movie. We laughed, talked, smiled, shrugged and sighed for almost 2-hours as we enjoyed the movie. There was no real or extended conversation since we were both wearing headsets, but we had a great time nevertheless!
My point in sharing this is...
As a teacher, counselor, social worker, security guard, librarian, nurse, clerk...whatever your role might be...the encounters you have with students, whether brief or extended...can bring great joy to others.
Lives that Intersect may bring lasting memories of happiness!
Choose positivity in every intersection! You can make a difference in someone's life!
