Let's Rock and Roll!!!!!!
Now that my vacation is over and I have gotten good rest...
I'm ready to roll!
Hopefully, all of you have had the opportunity to rest, relax,
and enjoy time with your family and friends this summer.
Now, it's time to think of your new class load of students...
Here's some tips for the first few weeks of school:
-Know your payroll secretary, textbook clerk, plant manager and security personnel
-Establish a positive relationship with all faculty and staff
-Create a warm and print rich environment
-Read any data that will help you to know and understand the
needs of your students
-Plan for success and align your instruction to the Core Standards
-Create a newsletter or parent letter to introduce yourself and
class to the students and their families
-Implement "getting-to-know-you" activities for the first week of school
-Create "norms" and "behavioral standards" with your students
-Develop positive ways to reinforce positive behavior among your students
-"Steal" every great idea your colleagues can share with you
-Dress and communicate in a professional manner
-Set clear and fair boundaries with your students
-Smile...yes...smile...even in August and September!!!!!!!
