It's Time to Vote!

Tuesday, November 6, 2012 is Election Day! Although there have been many people who voted early, thousands of folks will head out to the polls on Tuesday. Voting is not only a right....it is a responsibility! For those educators and staff who work with students 18 and older, please encourage them to take advantage of the opportunity to vote. For those educators and staff who work with students under the age of 18, this is a "teachable moment" to share the electoral process, issues that concern Americans, positions of political candidates, especially those in the presidential race and propositions that may impact issues closer to home, like funding for schools. Campaign 2012 can be a "teachable moment" in math, science, social studies, English, and other vital instructional areas. Real-life scenarios can create a high interest in academic skills for your students. Educate and inspire!
