Tomorrow Is Not Promised
My heart is heavy with the recent news that a dear friend lost her 16-year-old son. He was intelligent,
articulate, joyful, friendly, active, athletic, and well-loved!
As an educator of over 30 years, I have lost many students. Some to drugs, accidents, gang violence,
health issues, and suicide. No matter the reason, it is always difficult to lose a loved one. It is even
more difficult to lose a young person.
My dear educators, parents, and other professionals that work with young people, I implore you to
support, encourage, enlighten, and advocate for our children. No day can be wasted. Every day is
precious.
Live abundantly!
Give more than you receive!
Tomorrow is not promised!
